Yumi Koshima
Born and raised in Japan, currently living in Rome, jazz composer and pianist with roots in Los Angeles.
Born in Kyoto and raised in Kobe, Japan,Yumi Koshima is a pianist/composer/piano teacher.
She took classical piano lessons from three to ten years old and taught herself jazz and improvisational composition at age about twenty. She moved to Los Angeles, the United States, earned a BM in Jazz Studies and Piano Performance from California State University Northridge. While in Los Angeles, she has performed at the LightHouse, Beckman Auditorium as a Caltech Jazz Big Band, the Ambassador Auditorium in Pasadena, and The Soraya. She released her original albums, “Imagination Canvas” in 2022 and “Fly High” in 2025.
After living in Los Angeles for 12 years, she moved to Rome in Italy to peruse Master degree.
